Mentari Book again gave the opportunity for SMAIT Al Haraki students to learn English with a native speaker, Mr. Pontus. This time, the theme is ‘Describing gadgets and other technology appliances and telling how to use them’. And for the structure, Mr. Pontus delivers about sequences, present tenses, and imperative sentences.
Mr. Pontus introduces some important terms in an instruction to install or assemble a gadget in English. Then describe step by step to install the gadget. Mr. Pontus also invites students to interact by guessing what the next step will be if one step has been done.
Today’s lesson lasts 75 minutes, in the last 20 minutes, Mr. Pontis invites students to ask anything toward Mr. Pontus. Of the several questions asked, there was one question that was very interesting for Mr. Pontus, namely the question posed by Nazlina Ranna Syahira. The question is ‘‘What will Mr. Pontus do if Mr. Pontus’ childhood returns?’. Mr. Pontus replied, that he will continue to maintain communication with all his friends up to now. After taking a group photo, Mr. Pontus advised all students to continue to be enthusiastic about learning English, because we have a great duty to introduce the beauty of Indonesia to the world.
